Group Departures
4 Night: River and Pinnacles
June 14th - 18th 2024
November 6th - 10th 2024
This safari explores an area we call the Lower Ewaso Wilderness, defined by its roadless, steep country that borders our main river, the Ewaso Nyiro. The harshly undulating terrain gives way frequently to monoliths and long spines of Granite that lie like a dragon’s spines beneath the surface. Umbrella Thorns adorn all the sand-river drainages (luggas) that descend snake-like towards the Ewaso Nyiro. The area is excellent for Elephants, Greater Kudu and birds.

Miles For Elephants

National Geographic Traveler selected Miles for Elephants as one of their ‘50 Tours of a Lifetime: 2013’s most authentic, most innovative, most immersive, best–guided, and most sustainable tours’. This trek is an extraordinary expedition in support of a critical cause: fighting the elephant poaching crisis in Kenya and across Africa. Funds raised on the Miles for Elephants trek will be used by our partner Space for Giants to provide wages, equipment and training for vitally needed scouts on the ground and rapid response teams in Laikipia.

4 Nights - Tumaren Mobile Walking Safari
October 31 - 4th November, 2024
A four night walking safari spanning the Tumaren conservation area and neighboring land. This is a classic trip through our best wildlife country. Beside great rock kopjes we will camp with our camels and our comfortable mobile camp. Each day we will walk to our next camp with riding camels, strolling slowly, tracking and stalking as much game as we can possibly find. In the afternoons we rest after lunch and go for a short walk and a sundowner in the evenings. On the Wednesday for those interested we can pass by our local Masai market or homestead.

7 Nights: Karisia Hills - Forest, River and Rocks
January 4th - 11th, 2024
Great for forests, roadless wilderness, birds and culture. Our Karisia Hills walk traverses great changes in habitat from Old-growth Podocarpus and Cedar forests to the dry Acacia woodlands that skirt the river courses we will use as we continue to trek south. This walk is bisected by very few roads and the Samburu people that we will meet along the way live traditional lives with their herds of goats, sheep and cows.
