October 23rd - MACUSHLA -1 night

A charming bed and breakfast situated in a quiet suburb of Nairobi. Nairobi hosts a remarkable diversity of birds and you will be able to see many different species just by walking around Macushla's grounds.

After breakfast we will drive down to Lake Naivasha which is the highest fresh water lake in the Great Rift Valley. On the drive we might see the White-fronted Bee-eater, Pin-tailed Whydah, Augur Buzzard, Kori Bustard and Black-shouldered Kite.

In the afternoon we will take a walk along the shores of Lake Naivasha enjoying the Papyrus Swamps and the masses of waterbirds including Little Grebes, African Spoonbills, and Goliath Herons (the largest heron in the world). You will be amazed at how many birds you can see around Lake Naivasha.

October 24th - FISHERMAN'S CAMP -1 night

Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya's premeir birding hotspots. Naivasha's productive waters attract a great variety of herons, waders, storks, pelicans, terns and gulls while well preserved native vegetation on shore supports a great diversity of warblers, weavers, barbets, woodpeckers, canaries, finches and birds of prey. Black Herons, Grey-capped Warblers, Spectacled Weavers, and Black-lored Babblers are often among the highlights. In addition, Naivasha is good place for finding African Clawless Otters.
